What is the Trauma & Recovery Conference?

The Connecticut Women’s Consortium’s Trauma & Recovery Conference aims to explore the realities of trauma as it manifests through individual and community experiences whilst simultaneously acknowledging the multiple pathways to recovery. With a combination of national and local keynote and breakout session presenters, we strive to push the boundaries of traditional trauma treatment and expand the definition of recovery, creating comprehensive, inclusive systems of care. Join us at this inaugural conference, as we seek to promote evidence-based solutions for the many people across the world struggling with the effect of trauma and searching for recovery.

Keynotes

We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for our October 19th – 21st Trauma and Recovery Conference. This year is extra special because we have five keynote speakers!

So far we have revealed Robert Anda, MD, co-developer of the ACE study, Tonier Cain an advocate and educator who has spoken all over the world on issues relating to trauma, addiction, and mental health, Dr. Stephanie Covington a pioneer in the field of women’s issues, addiction, trauma, and recovery. She has developed an innovative, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed approach that results in effective services in public, private, and institutional settings and Nelba Márquez-Greene, the founder of the Ana Grace Project and a clinical fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Curious who the rest are? Head over to our Facebook for clues and a chance to guess the remaining speakers. The first person to correctly guess each speaker wins one free online trauma series training!
