What is the Trauma & Recovery Conference?
The Connecticut Women’s Consortium’s Trauma & Recovery Conference aims to explore the realities of trauma as it manifests through individual and community experiences whilst simultaneously acknowledging the multiple pathways to recovery. With a combination of national and local keynote and breakout session presenters, we strive to push the boundaries of traditional trauma treatment and expand the definition of recovery, creating comprehensive, inclusive systems of care. Join us at this inaugural conference, as we seek to promote evidence-based solutions for the many people across the world struggling with the effect of trauma and searching for recovery.
We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for our Trauma and Recovery Conference. This year is extra special because we have six unique and powerful presenters!
On Monday, October 19 we will be joined by national experts Robert Anda, MD, co-developer of the ACE study, and Dr. Stephanie Covington, a pioneer in the field of women’s issues, addiction, trauma, and recovery.
Tuesday brings home-state members of our training faculty, Daryl McGraw and Hope Payson, one the founder of Formerly Inc. and the other a producer on the film "Uprooting Addiction: Healing from the Ground Up." The all-Connecticut day will close with Nelba Márquez-Greene, the founder of the Ana Grace Project and a clinical fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Our conference closes with a half-day featuring Tonier Cain, an advocate and educator who has spoken all over the world on issues relating to trauma, addiction, and mental health.
